SIZING GUIDE

A properly fitted rope halter allows for more effective training and connection between you and your horse as the rope halter knots fit in the right places.

How to measure

To ensure you order the right size for your horse lay out a halter you are using currently using for your horse that fits.

Measure all the rope areas and compare to the chart. Find the size whose numbers sit closest to yours.

A size chart for horse bits with measurements in millimeters across different bit styles including Mini, Pony, Cob, Full, Warmblood, and Draft, listing dimensions for nose, jaw, throat, cheek to throat, cheek, and poll.

Checking the fit

Once the rope halter is on, the noseband should sit roughly halfway between the horse’s eye and the end of the nose — never down on the soft cartilage near the nostrils, where a rope halter can restrict breathing. You should be able to slide two fingers under the noseband comfortably. The cheek knots should sit below the cheekbone, not on it.

Need a custom size? Not a problem!

Send us a photo of measurements from a halter that currently fits and we will tie to those instead — there is no extra charge for custom sizing. We would rather get it right at the start! This is a great option for also non equine pets such as cows, alpacas, donkeys and more!
